One floor plan, many kinds of rooms
An animal hospital packs a lot into a single floor plan. Owners wait up front with dogs on leashes and cats in carriers, technicians move between exam rooms and the treatment area all day, and surgery, imaging and the wards sit behind doors clients rarely pass. Sacramento Janitorial Co builds a cleaning plan that follows that layout from the front door to the back hallway, timed for after the last appointment or for the quietest window the practice keeps.
The goal for every visit: a clean, fresh lobby at opening time, exam rooms ready for the first appointment, and back rooms reset for the team before morning rounds.
Lobby, scale and front counter
The waiting area takes the most wear from paws, wet coats and nervous visitors. Each visit cleans the entry glass and door push plates, wipes bench seating and the check-in counter, cleans the floor scale platform and mops the hard floor edge to edge, with extra attention to corners and the base of the seating, where hair gathers. Lobby bins are emptied and relined, and the client restroom is cleaned and refilled.
Shelves of food and retail products are dusted along the fronts, so the display looks tidy without the crew handling stock. For daytime upkeep, a day porter can look after the lobby floor, client restroom and front glass while appointments run.
Exam rooms ready for the first appointment
Exam rooms see a steady line of animals and owners, and each one leaves hair, dander or the occasional accident behind. The crew moves through every room in the sequence your written protocol sets: the exam table and countertops, the sink and backsplash, cabinet faces, door handles, light switches, the chairs owners sit in and, last, the floor. The crew works only with EPA-registered disinfectants and leaves each in place until the dwell time printed on its label has passed.
Any room can also be booked for terminal cleaning, a deeper reset that starts at the light fixtures and vents and finishes on the floor, with walls and cabinets in between.
Treatment area, surgery suite and wards
The treatment area is the clinic’s busiest workspace. Once staff have cleared instruments and supplies for the night, the crew cleans counters, sinks, cabinet fronts and the floor beneath the treatment tables. The surgery suite gets its own procedure, with the products and order of work your protocol names for that room.
Wards and kennel rooms get hard-floor cleaning, wall wipe-downs at animal height and attention to the outside of the cage banks, done after the team settles animals for the night or moves them aside. Hair is pulled from the drains in tubs and wet areas, so the next day starts with water running freely.
Careful hands behind the front desk
Crews come to the clinic background-checked, with bloodborne-pathogen safety training behind them, so a spot of blood on a treatment-room floor or counter is cleaned up with the correct steps. Client files, invoices and the screens at reception and in the doctors’ offices stay exactly as staff left them, because crews bring HIPAA-aware habits into every office and never read or shift records.
Our supervisors carry out quality inspections, walking the clinic to check exam rooms, floors and restrooms against the cleaning plan.
Hard floors and staff spaces
Vet clinics tend to run on sealed concrete, vinyl or tile, which hold up to water and frequent mopping. Worn finish on vinyl or tile comes back with a strip and refinish from our commercial floor care service, planned over a weekend or done in sections so appointments carry on.
Staff rooms, the break kitchen, the doctors’ offices and the locker area share that visit: counters, microwaves and fridge doors wiped, sinks scrubbed, waste removed and floors finished. Paper towels, toilet tissue and hand soap can come from our janitorial supplies, or the crew can refill dispensers with products the clinic already buys.
Clinics from strip centers to animal hospitals
A general-practice clinic in a retail center usually empties by early evening, so the crew comes in after closing. An animal hospital with overnight wards or emergency hours never fully empties, so the crew works around staff on duty and boarded animals. Visits are available throughout Sacramento, including East Sacramento, Elk Grove and North Highlands, and the routine is set after a walkthrough with your practice manager.
A few useful answers
Common questions.
Can you clean while overnight patients are in the ward?
Yes. The crew works around the staff on duty, cleans the ward floor and surfaces in the areas the team opens, and keeps noise low near resting animals.
Will the crew use the disinfectants our protocol names?
Yes. List the products and the order you want them used, and the crew applies them that way, and each EPA-registered product sits for the dwell time its label lists.
What is the routine for fur in the waiting room?
Seating, corners, baseboards and the scale area are vacuumed or dust-mopped first, then the floor is mopped, so hair is lifted away instead of pushed around in water.
Can we book a terminal clean for the surgery suite alone?
Yes. Book it for the surgery suite by itself or add other rooms, and the reset covers light fixtures, walls, cabinets, equipment exteriors and the floor.
When does the crew arrive if we see patients late into the evening?
After your last appointment. Emergency hospitals that stay open choose a window when the treatment area is quietest, and the crew starts with the lobby and exam rooms.
