A building that supports recovery
People in treatment spend long days in a handful of rooms: the bedroom, the group room, the dining room and the shower. When those rooms are clean and orderly, staff can focus on care and residents settle in more easily. Sacramento Janitorial Co plans its visits around how a program actually uses its building, hour by hour.
Programs across the city, from small residential houses to outpatient suites in office buildings, keep their own housekeeping protocols, and our crews clean to them.
Morning: bedrooms while groups meet
Once residents head to morning groups, the crew moves through the bedrooms staff have opened. Belongings stay untouched. Surfaces are dusted, handles and switches wiped, wastebaskets emptied, carpet vacuumed and hard flooring damp-mopped, and any room with a resident inside is left for later in the day.
Hallways, stair rails and the lounge are picked up on the same route, so the living side of the building is settled before lunch. Window sills and blinds in resident rooms are dusted on a rotation, and mattress covers are wiped whenever staff strip a bed.
Midday: dining rooms and kitchenettes
After lunch, dining tables, chair seats and serving counters are wiped, food waste is cleared and the floor is cleaned before afternoon programming. Resident kitchenettes and staff break rooms get the countertops, the sink, the microwave and the fridge door cleaned. A program kitchen with walk-in coolers can add shared kitchen cleaning for its floors, walk-ins and drains.
Afternoon: showers and restrooms
Shared showers are scrubbed, descaled and rinsed, drains are cleared, and toilets, sinks, partitions and mirrors are cleaned with every dispenser refilled. Restrooms that need grout and partition detail on a monthly or quarterly cycle can add commercial restroom deep cleaning.
Resident laundry rooms are cleared of lint and spilled detergent, with folding tables and machine tops wiped, so the room stays pleasant for everyone who uses it.
Evening: group rooms, offices and the lobby
When sessions wrap up, the crew resets each group and therapy room: chairs straightened and wiped, tables cleared, floors vacuumed. Counselor and administrative offices are cleaned with HIPAA-aware conduct, so records, screens and notes are never read or rearranged.
The lobby, intake desk, family visiting room and visitor restroom are cleaned last, so tomorrow’s arrivals walk into a calm, tidy space.
Weekends and family visits
Weekend visiting hours bring families, children and outside guests into the building. Visitor rooms, the guest restroom, the lobby and the entry walk are cleaned ahead of those hours, and a short follow-up pass after visitors leave resets the seating and empties the bins.
Protocol, disinfectants and terminal cleaning
Your protocol lists the surfaces, frequencies and products, and our crews follow it. Soil is removed before any disinfectant goes on, and every disinfectant is EPA-registered and given the dwell time stated on its label.
Terminal cleaning is booked when a resident is discharged or a room changes hands. It works from vents and light fixtures down through walls, furniture, the bed frame and mattress cover to the floor. Our crews are trained in bloodborne-pathogen safety, and disinfection and sanitizing rounds can be added on top of the routine.
The first visit and house rules
The program director or house manager shows our supervisor through the building before the first visit. We note which rooms are off-limits, when residents are in groups, how staff want doors opened and locked behind the crew, and where visitors sign in. Your housekeeping protocol then becomes a room-by-room checklist the crew carries on every visit.
Visit times stay steady from week to week, so residents know when to expect the crew in the hallways and staff can plan groups around it. Dispensers are refilled on every visit, with toilet paper, towels and soap supplied by us or taken from the program’s own shelves.
Respectful, screened crews
Each cleaner is background-checked before the first shift, while supervisors visit to inspect the quality of the work. Sacramento Janitorial Co holds insurance and workers’ compensation coverage and sends every client a certificate of insurance.
Price is set by resident rooms and beds, showers and restrooms, meals served, visits per week, overnight or weekend timing and terminal cleans per month. Programs that share a campus with a clinic can add medical office cleaning for those suites.
A few useful answers
Common questions.
How are bedrooms cleaned without disturbing residents?
Crews clean while residents attend groups, only in rooms staff have opened, and leave every personal item in place.
Can terminal cleaning be booked for a single room?
Yes. Any room can be booked for a terminal clean after a discharge, from the vents down to the floor.
How do crews behave in counselor offices?
They follow HIPAA-aware conduct: records, screens and notes stay unread and exactly where staff left them.
Is overnight cleaning possible in a residential program?
Yes. Overnight and weekend visits cover restrooms and common areas quietly, around your house rules.
What happens before the first cleaning visit?
A walk of the building with your staff to note off-limits rooms, group times, and door and visitor rules, followed by a checklist built from your housekeeping protocol.
