Price a Sacramento building in under a minute
Sacramento works out of a wide mix of buildings: government and professional offices, medical and dental practices, schools, churches, shops, manufacturing plants and big distribution floors. This calculator turns a few facts about yours into a monthly range for recurring janitorial service, and it also works out what a single carpet cleaning or a vinyl tile strip and wax would run.
The five answers the calculator asks for
- Service needed. Leave it on recurring janitorial service for ongoing cleaning, or change it when one floor needs a carpet cleaning or a strip and wax.
- Cleanable square feet. Measure only what the crew actually touches on an ordinary night: offices, corridors, restrooms, breakrooms and lobbies. Skip locked storage, electrical closets and racked aisles nobody sweeps.
- Type of facility. Choose an office, a medical or dental practice, a retail store, a school, a church, the offices and support rooms of a manufacturing plant, or an open warehouse floor. Each one cleans at its own pace.
- How often. Any number of visits a week, from a single night up to every day.
- Day porter hours. Optional. Enter weekday hours for a porter who stays through the business day to refresh restrooms, lobbies and breakrooms; our day porter services page explains the role.
Every dollar in that range pays for a complete cleaning operation rather than a wage alone: supervisors who inspect the work, liability insurance and workers’ compensation, the chemicals and machines crews bring, and the payroll costs layered on top of each paycheck.
Why fewer cleans a week cost more per visit
Dropping from five nights to two brings the monthly figure down, yet the savings come out smaller than the three missing nights would suggest. When a crew comes in less often, dust settles deeper, trash cans fill to the brim, and restroom floors and fixtures take more scrubbing to come back. Every visit has more buildup to clear, so each one runs longer, and the calculator builds that in.
Every visit also has a minimum length. Getting a crew into the building, through the alarm and around the restrooms takes a set amount of time even in a small suite, so a little space cleaned once a week never prices as a sliver of a bigger job. There is also a monthly minimum on recurring plans, so a crew and supervisor stay committed to your building even when the calendar is thin.
Carpet cleaning and strip and wax, priced per job
Pick one of the two floor services in the Service needed list and the figure on screen changes from a monthly cost to the price of that single job. Enter the carpeted area, or the vinyl tile area you want stripped and refinished.
Floor work gets cheaper per square foot as the area grows. Bringing machines in, setting up, and protecting baseboards and furniture take nearly the same effort for one conference room as for a whole floor, so a large job spreads that effort across far more footage. That fixed setup is also why a small job has a minimum charge. The Sacramento janitorial cost guide lists a single per-foot band for carpet work and another for strip and wax, while this tool builds in the lower per-foot cost that bigger floors earn.

Details a walkthrough picks up
The calculator knows size, building type and frequency. A walk through the building fills in the rest:
- Room mix. Exam rooms, classrooms and kitchenettes take longer than open cubicle floors and storage rooms.
- Restrooms. Fixture count and daily traffic shape every visit, and heavy-use restrooms benefit from a periodic restroom deep cleaning.
- Floor types. Carpet, sealed concrete, vinyl tile and stone each call for their own tools and passes.
- Foot traffic and current condition. Public counters and crowded clinic lobbies collect far more grime than a records room, and a space left uncleaned for months takes a recovery visit before the regular routine starts.
- Day or night service. Cleaning around staff at work calls for a different plan than cleaning an empty building after hours.
- Supplies. Choose whether we bring the toilet tissue, towels, soap and can liners (see janitorial supplies) or whether crews refill dispensers from the stock you purchase.
- Periodic work. Floor refinishing, carpet extraction, high dusting and window washing each go on a separate line with their own schedule.
Send the range, then book a free walkthrough
Your estimate is a starting point for the budget. Once a figure fits your plans, the send button under the result attaches it to the quote form, so we already know your square footage, facility type and schedule when we reach out. Next comes a free walkthrough booked around your week, a room-by-room look with you, and a written quote with the exact monthly price.
Cleaning runs on your calendar, whether that means evenings after the office empties, early mornings before a clinic opens or weekends. Cleaners on our Sacramento crews pass background checks, and supervisors inspect their work on a regular round. Our janitorial services page lists what a regular visit takes care of.
A few useful answers
Common questions.
Can I set a budget from the calculator range?
Yes. It is built for budgeting, using Sacramento labor costs plus the facility type and visit count you choose. The walkthrough then confirms restrooms, floors, traffic and supplies, and the written quote that follows carries your exact price.
What if my building mixes offices with a warehouse floor?
Run the calculator twice: once for the offices, restrooms and breakrooms, and once for the open floor. Add the two ranges together, and the walkthrough settles how both areas fit into one cleaning plan.
Does a lighter schedule always save money?
The monthly total drops as you remove cleans, but each remaining visit has more to catch up on and runs longer. Recurring plans also have a monthly minimum, so a very light schedule in a small space saves less than the drop in visits suggests.
Do we have to buy our own toilet paper and soap?
No, though you can. We stock and refill paper goods, soap and liners, or crews use what you purchase. Cleaning chemicals and machines arrive with the crew and sit inside the estimate, and the written quote states which way the paper goods go.
Can I price a carpet or floor job on its own?
Yes. Choose carpet cleaning or strip and wax under Service needed, enter the area and you will see a per-job range. Send it with a quote request and we will look at the floor before setting the price.
